What to have ready
- Brand and model number. The model label is usually inside the fresh-food compartment on a side wall or the ceiling. On built-in units it is often behind the top grille or on the side of the kickplate.
- What changed. When did the problem start? Is the freezer affected too? Any noises, error codes or water on the floor?
- Access. Built-in refrigerators may need the top grille removed — please clear anything stored above the unit.
