Scheduling and service questions
How quickly can you come out?
Same-day appointments are often available in Las Vegas, Henderson and Boulder City when you call in the morning. Otherwise we schedule within one to two business days.
What areas do you serve?
Las Vegas (including Summerlin, Centennial Hills, Spring Valley, Enterprise, Southern Highlands and Paradise), Henderson (including Green Valley, Anthem, Seven Hills, Inspirada and Lake Las Vegas) and Boulder City.
Do I need to be home for the repair?
An adult needs to be home to let the technician in and approve the quote. Plan for 45 to 90 minutes for most repairs.
Do you work on weekends?
Yes. We work seven days a week: Monday through Friday 8 AM to 7 PM, and Saturday and Sunday 8 AM to 4 PM.
Cost and warranty questions
How much is the service call?
$75 anywhere in our service area, for any brand, credited toward the repair when you approve it. See pricing for typical repair costs.
What warranty do you give?
Every repair includes a 90-day labor warranty. Parts carry the manufacturer's warranty, usually one year. If the same problem comes back during the warranty period, we return at no charge for labor.
Will you repair a refrigerator that is still under manufacturer warranty?
If your refrigerator is under factory warranty, call the manufacturer first — that repair should cost you nothing. If the manufacturer cannot get a technician to you in time, or the warranty does not cover the failure, we can help.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Credit and debit cards and cash. Payment is due when the repair is complete.
Are your technicians certified to work with refrigerant?
Yes. Every technician holds EPA Section 608 certification, which federal law requires to open a refrigeration system and handle refrigerant. That is what allows us to replace compressors and repair refrigerant leaks in your home.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Nevada State Business License #NV20253316199. We carry insurance with coverage up to $2,000,000.
Can you fix a refrigerator that another company said is not repairable?
Often, yes. We regularly repair refrigerators that other companies — including manufacturer-authorized service — declared not repairable. The usual reasons are a compressor, a refrigerant leak or a hard-to-find part, and those are our specialties. If it truly cannot be fixed, we will tell you.
Do you give second opinions?
Yes. If another company quoted a compressor, a sealed-system repair or a replacement, our second opinion visit is $75.
Refrigerator questions
Can a refrigerator run and still have a bad compressor?
Yes. A compressor can start and run while pumping too little refrigerant to cool. It is diagnosed only after airflow, defrost and condenser problems are ruled out — see running but not cooling.
Why is the back wall of my freezer covered in ice?
The automatic defrost has stopped working — usually the defrost heater, defrost thermostat or sensor, or the control. See frozen evaporator.
Why does my refrigerator click every few minutes?
Usually the compressor is trying to start and its overload is tripping. A start relay, a dirty condenser, low voltage or the compressor itself can cause it. See compressor not starting.
What temperature should my refrigerator be?
Keep the fresh-food compartment at 37°F to 40°F and the freezer at 0°F, as recommended by the FDA. A cheap appliance thermometer in a glass of water on the middle shelf gives the most accurate reading.
Why is my refrigerator not cooling but the freezer is fine?
This is almost always an airflow problem: frost blocking the evaporator because of a defrost failure, a failed evaporator fan, or a stuck air damper. It is rarely the compressor. See freezer cold but refrigerator warm.
How long do refrigerators last?
A typical freestanding refrigerator lasts 10 to 15 years. Built-in luxury refrigerators such as Sub-Zero are designed for 20 years or more and are usually worth repairing well past the 10-year mark.
How often should I clean the condenser coils?
In Las Vegas, at least once a year — twice a year if you have pets or the refrigerator is in a garage. Built-in units with top-mounted condensers should be cleaned every six months.
Is it safe to keep a refrigerator in a Las Vegas garage?
Only if the refrigerator is rated for garage use. Standard refrigerators are designed for room temperatures of roughly 55°F to 110°F; Las Vegas garages regularly exceed that in summer. Read our garage refrigerator guide.
