Common Miele refrigerator problems
Temperature drift. Miele refrigerators use multiple electronic temperature sensors. A failing sensor can make a compartment too warm or too cold while the display looks normal. We measure actual temperatures and compare them to sensor readings.
Ice maker problems. Freezer columns with ice makers can stop producing because of water valve failure, frozen fill tubes, or scale from Las Vegas hard water. We also check that the water filter is current.
Frost and condensation. Integrated doors need precise alignment. When a door sags or the gasket does not seal, humid air enters and frost forms.
Fan noise. Evaporator or condenser fans can grow noisy with age or when ice contacts a fan blade.
Ventilation. Integrated Miele units breathe through the toe-kick. Blocked or dirty toe-kick vents raise operating temperatures, which in Las Vegas quickly becomes a cooling problem.
Frequently asked questions
Are Miele refrigerators worth repairing?
Yes, in nearly every case. Integrated Miele units are expensive to replace and installation is tied to your cabinetry. Most failures are fans, sensors, valves and controls.
